When it comes down to it, we come to the office because we enjoy each other’s company. We thrive on teamwork and believe easy access to each other’s ideas is our greatest asset. Still, we don’t conform to the traditional desk job your parents complained about. Our team members make themselves at home, often cozying up on the couches in our many community spaces to get a fresh perspective away from the confines of a desk. It’s not uncommon to find a furry friend curled up close by, either. The best part of being a dog-friendly workplace is a built-in friend from day one. But at Blue Compass, we’re all a package deal, so buckle up.  

Inspired Inside Jokes

We’ve proudly perfected the balance between professionalism and pranks. Consider this your fair warning, because we go from “hired” to hijinx real quick. Our frequent team gatherings in the Compass Cafe (beginning with our “Cookie Time” tradition on your first day!) have inspired some of our best memories.

From unicorns and jump scares to bathtubs and boats, we won’t always be able to tell you why something is so funny (honestly half of us don’t even remember at this point), but we will share our laughter with you. Most of our inside jokes reach mythical status, so even if you weren’t around when an incident allegedly transpired, you’ll always feel included and encouraged to laugh along.

Timeless Team Traditions

Every summer at Blue Circle Games, four teams come together to compete in a series of challenges designed to test our limits, and only one emerges with the ultimate prize. In other words, we all dust off our plank walking and pool noodle skills requiring no athletic ability whatsoever to compete for bragging rights. But we still take it very seriously, and it’s one of the best days at Blue Compass.

A close second is our themed holiday gift exchange that gets everyone in the giving spirit. Speaking of, giving back through our coordinated volunteer efforts during the workday is another of our most cherished opportunities to spend time together and contribute to a cause close to our hearts. The Blue Compass team never fails to go all in when it’s time to make a difference.

Meaningful Memories Made

Of course, some of the best moments in the office have come as a complete surprise (and we’re not talking about hiding inside a giant birthday cake and surprising a fellow team member, though that has happened). Whether packing a party bus for Employee Appreciation Day or plastering giant photos of employees’ faces to the side of the building, our leadership team is always finding new ways to take their appreciation to new heights (literally). 

Each month during our team meetings, we all hop aboard the appreciation train and share shoutouts for those we want to thank for a job well done. Taking the time to recognize one another for what we bring to our multi-talented team energizes us because we truly support one another (one of our most important team pillars!). We go far when we find talented team members who embrace everything we try to embody at Blue Compass.
