How Charles Got Started As A Developer

Charles was first exposed to the wonders of web development at the University of Northern Iowa, where he gained a lot of great experience. He graduated with a B.A. in studio arts with an emphasis in graphic design, and it was in his web design class that he found his passion for web development. He started learning everything he could about designing websites and landed his first job as the web developer for the Culture and Intensive English Program at UNI while he was still a student. After graduation, the UNI Office of the Provost and the Executive VP of Academic Affairs hired him as their web developer.

He left his alma mater for an opportunity at Aureon Web Solutions, where he learned new website tricks as one of their web developers and consultants. He is excited to continue enhancing his skill set with the Blue Compass team!

A Little More About Charles

Outside of work you can find Charles working on his two sports cars (1977 Porsche 911s and 1992 Mazda Miata) or gradually remodeling his home. He is currently restoring the Porsche 911s and completing the final touches of a V6 engine swap on the Miata. When he's not busy with car projects, Charles enjoy working on do-it-yourself home renovation projects or entertaining his two dogs, Axle and Holley, both named after either a car part or brand.

Joining the Blue Compass Team

Charles is excited for the opportunity to continue to learn more about web development and expand his skills with the development team. Most of his previous experiences have been solo projects, so he can’t wait to collaborate with everyone at Blue Compass to create innovative products for his clients!
