How I Got Started as a Developer

I was first exposed to the wonders of web development at the University of Northern Iowa, where I also gained a lot of great experience. I graduated there with a B.A. in studio arts with an emphasis in graphic design, and it was in my graphic web design class that I found my passion for web development. I started learning everything I could about designing websites and landed my first job as the web developer for the Culture and Intensive English Program at UNI while I was still a student. After graduation, the UNI Office of the Provost and the Executive VP of Academic Affairs hired me as their web developer.

I left my alma mater for an opportunity at Aureon Web Solutions, where I learned new website tricks as one of their web developers and consultants. I’m excited to continue enhancing my skill set with the Blue Compass team!

A Little More About Me

Outside of work you can find me gradually remodeling my home. I’m currently reconstructing my kitchen by installing countertops and choosing the perfect tiles and backsplash. When I’m not busy with do-it-yourself projects, I enjoy working on cars or entertaining my two dogs, Axle and Holley, both named after either a car part or brand.

Joining the Blue Compass Team

I’m excited for the opportunity to continue to learn more about web development and expand my skills with our development team. Most of my previous experiences have been solo projects, so I can’t wait to collaborate with everyone at Blue Compass to create innovative products for our clients!
