Structural Rehabilitation for HK Solutions Group’s Digital Presence

HK Solutions Group (formerly Hydro-Klean) is an industrial and municipal services provider offering a range of services from pipeline maintenance and inspections to waste handling, hydroblasting, manhole rehabilitation and more. HK’s business is expanding rapidly, with new acquisitions across the U.S. and new services added routinely. HK’s old website had very little content with minimal SEO value, and their team struggled to easily update and maintain the website using their old content management system (CMS).

Our team was happy to design and develop a new website with well-researched, SEO-friendly content about HK Solutions Group’s services. We also implemented search engine marketing (SEM) and social media efforts to accomplish our goal of boosting brand recognition and increasing their digital footprint.

A System for Content Management and Maintenance

One of Blue Compass' goals was to streamline the process of adding new service lines and sub-services to the website as HK Solutions Group continues to grow and expand. Our developers created a custom services system that allows website administrators to quickly update content and images, add new service tiles and customize cross-sell opportunities on main service line pages. Slate, a user-friendly content management system (CMS) makes it easy for their team members to make quick updates and populate content across the website.

Website Design & Development

HK Solutions Group’s old website was difficult to update, confusing to navigate and wasn’t ranking well in search results. Our Des Moines web design and development team worked on creating a new website design to showcase HK’s diverse service offerings and provide users with valuable information about each service and the wide array of capabilities offered by HK.

SEO

Our digital marketing team dove into extensive keyword research to make this site SEO-compliant, with optimized content that has boosted HK’s presence in search results. The services and content are very technical, so we focused on writing clear, easily-digestible copy that was technically accurate and SEO-compliant. Following SEO best practices ensures that all content on the new site is valuable to users and helps the site rank higher in search for both branded and relevant industry terms.

Branding

During the project, the client’s brand name changed from Hydro-Klean to HK Solutions Group as it better encompasses the organization’s growing list of service offerings. Our website design and branding team helped with domain research, logo design, branding and a transition strategy. We also facilitated the brand name change across HK’s online presence, letting customers know about the new name while maintaining the brand equity of the old name.

SEM

Oftentimes, SEM ads are a valuable way to ensure your brand is always top of mind (and top of search), and strategic SEM optimizations also support SEO efforts. Blue Compass implemented Google Ads campaigns to promote HK’s service lines, including: waste handling, pipeline rehabilitation, inspection services, manhole lining and more. Our team was also strategic about using SEM campaigns to spread the word about HK’s brand name change.
