Banking On a Better Online Presence: Security National Bank

Security National Bank (SNB), a leading financial organization serving markets across Sioux City, Iowa, and Sioux Falls, South Dakota, sought to improve their online presence through a more effective website. Their previous site was built by a development agency that relied on traditional banking website trends, and SNB wanted a new, custom site to stand out from competitors in the industry.

SNB came to Blue Compass in 2016 for a clear direction for the digital presence. Since the initial bank website redesign, our team has worked with SNB on a variety of design, development and digital marketing efforts, including content marketing, SEO, multiple unique landing page designs, Intranet development, ADA compliance corrections and so much more.

A Mortgage Application That Lifts Your Spirit

Our web developers created the Mortgage Hub landing page to help SNB promote their mortgage lending services and explain the benefits they can offer as a smaller, local mortgage lender. This uplifting design provides potential homebuyers with the information they need to apply for a loan, and it makes the process simple and easy. This playful landing page also emphasizes a benefit that sets Security National Bank apart from other mortgage lenders: their home mortgage lending services are local and tailored to suit each applicant’s unique needs. After the Mortgage Hub launched, Blue Compass ran a successful Google Ads campaign that helped numerous potential homebuyers in the area to choose local lending options.

Website Development

Security National Bank’s old website looked just like every other bank website, and they wanted to stand out. Our team provided custom development services, creating a modern bank website that sets SNB apart from their competition. When visiting the new site, users can quickly see that SNB offers all the services of a large commercial bank with the personalized touch only a small, local business can provide. The site is also created to load quickly and allows for easy updating through the content management system.

Digital Marketing Campaigns

In 2019, SNB gave their brand a new look with an updated logo and color scheme. To support the rebranding efforts, our design team created a landing page with bold graphic elements, scroll effects, animations and enticing imagery. Our goal was to tell the story of Security National Bank’s rebrand and the meaning behind their design decisions. These efforts reassured customers that SNB is still the same bank they trust, and their values and dedication to their communities hasn’t changed because everything matters when it comes to their customers.

Content Marketing

Content marketing was a priority focus when our digital marketing team developed digital strategies for Security National Bank. Our team wrote and optimized a number of blogs about various banking and finance topics, including a pillar piece — a long-form piece of content with one main topic, multiple sub-topics and various links to shorter content pieces. Pillar pieces allow for strategic backlinking, keyword grouping and other high-value SEO tactics. The content Blue Compass wrote or optimized continues to perform very well, bringing in valuable traffic and boosting SNB’s overall online presence.

Intranet

Blue Compass built a custom intranet to help Security National Bank improve efficiency and internal workflows. The SNB intranet enables easy file sharing and access to information, and it’s a useful platform for publishing company news, alerts and announcements. The intranet also featured custom experiences with different department filters. For example, the HR intranet experience is tailored with different information and access compared to the content tellers see when they log in. The intranet also had to integrate with Microsoft Active Directory, an employee database system, for single sign-on (SSO) capabilities.
