Business Development Associate

We are seeking a motivated, outgoing and detail-oriented Sales Associate to join our dynamic Business Development team. This role is fast-paced and crucial in supporting our efforts to build and maintain strong relationships with current and prospective clients. The ideal candidate will be passionate about all things digital and websites, and eager to contribute to our team’s success through research, client engagement, and strategic follow-up.

Business Development Associate Responsibilities Will Include:

  • Case Study Development: Collaborate with the business development, website development, and digital marketing teams to compile detailed case studies on client projects. Highlight key successes and outcomes to showcase our work to prospects.
  • Client & Prospect Follow-Up: Engage with past clients and prospects, tracking the effectiveness of our services 3-6 months after project completion. Report findings to the team to inform future outreach and project proposals.
  • Opportunity Identification: Identify potential opportunities for business growth by researching client-adjacent markets. For example, if we launch a website for a client in a specific industry, help identify similar organizations that may benefit from our services.
  • Upsell Opportunities: Proactively seek out upsell opportunities within our current client base. Identify clients who would benefit from additional services and create plans for business development strategists to initiate ongoing communication.
  • Prospect Research: Conduct thorough research on potential clients, gathering insights on their business, industry news, digital marketing, and areas for improvement. Use this information to craft personalized outreach efforts for business development strategists.
  • Prospecting & Outreach: Assist in creating and sending prospecting emails. Tailor messages to the specific needs and pain points of each prospect, showcasing how Blue Compass can provide solutions.
  • Meeting Support: Join client and prospect meetings as a note-taker. Provide detailed recaps of conversations and follow-up actions to ensure alignment and momentum in ongoing discussions.
  • Wish List Tracking: Maintain a record of prospects’ wish list items and potential projects. Keep the team informed of these opportunities to ensure they are addressed in future proposals and communications.

Requirements For The Business Development Associate Role:

  • Experience in Marketing, Business, Communications, or a related field
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to analyze trends and successes
  • Outgoing, enjoys meeting new people and forming relationships
  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team
  • Experience in digital marketing or sales is a plus
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Google Suite (Sheets, Docs, Drive), HubSpot
  • Basic understanding about website development, SEO, and digital marketing trends
