Twas the Night Before Christmas at Blue Compass

A Blue Compass Tale

Twas the night before Christmas, when all through BC’s house
Not a creature was stirring, not even a (computer) mouse.
The client work was done by team members with care,
In hopes that target audiences soon would be there.

The team was nestled all snug in their beds,
While visions of FitBit challenges danced in their heads.
And Drew in his Apple Watch, and Cary in his Michigan cap,
Had just settled their brains for a long weekend’s nap.

When out on Westown Parkway there arose such a clatter,
Everyone sprang from their beds to see what was the matter.
Away to their windows the team flew, less glitchy than Flash,
Tore open the shutters and threw up the sash.

Flashlight apps on the breast of the new-fallen snow
Gave the lustre of mid-day to objects below.
When, what to our wondering eyes should appear,
But a miniature sleigh, and eight tiny reindeer.

With a little old driver, so omnipresent and frugal,
I knew in a moment it must be St. Google.
More rapid than high-speed his coursers they came,
And he whistled, and shouted, and searched them by name!

"Now Docs! Now, Drive! Now, Chromebooks and Search!
On, YouTube! On, Fiber! On, Analytics and Merch’!
To the top of the screen! To the top of the paywall!
Now em dash away! Em dash away! Em dash away all!"

As team members before a wild Smartsheet session try
When they meet with an obstacle, with no wi-fi.
So up to the house-top his routers they flew,
With the sleigh full of tech, and St. Google too.

We hoped that the sack, that he hefted with an oomph
Was full of the tools and the tech to help us future-proof.
As we drew in our heads, and were turning around,
Down the chimney St. Google came with a bound.

He was dressed all in wearables, from his head to his foot,
Including a few like Glass, which has since gone caput.
A bundle of tech he had flung on his back,
And he looked like an IT guy, just opening his pack.

His AdWords-how they twinkled! His image searches, sometimes scary!
Though nothing compares to the scares from our very own Cary!
The day’s Google Doodle was as cute as a bow,
And the landing page was as clean and as white as the snow.

The stub of a USB he held tight in his teeth,
And the cloud it encircled his head like a wreath.
He had a broad search and a little round function,
Some of the rhymes are getting a bit stretched at this junction!

He was useful and keen, quick with responses from Support,
Gifting us one or two AdWords that were short!
Now’s searches finished my thoughts like we were friends
And he gave us a leg up, examining the latest Trends.

We spoke not a word, watching St. Google make it easier to work,
He filled all our stockings, then turned with a jerk.
And laying his finger on his touchpad,
Up the chimney he rose, like an athlete in an olympiad.

He sprang to his sleigh, to his apps gave a whistle,
And away they all flew like an antiballistic missile.
But we heard him exclaim, ‘ere he Google Drived out of sight,
"Happy Christmas to all, and to all a good-night!"
