My name is Joey Kern and I’m super excited to join the Blue Compass team as a Client Support Intern. Everyone here has made my first week exciting and enjoyable. After only three days, I can tell there won’t be too many dull moments in the office. Blue Compass seems like a perfect place for me to learn about the ‘Computer World’ firsthand.
I will be a sophomore at Johns Hopkins University in the fall, where I am a student athlete. I am pursuing a double major in Electrical and Computer Engineering, and extremely excited to return next year with some real-world knowledge about computers. I’ve always been intrigued by networks, servers, programming and everything else that comes with computers, so it was easy to choose my major when it was time.
Outside of Work
When I’m not studying or working, I am usually playing basketball. Yes, Johns Hopkins has a basketball team, and it’s a ton of fun. Apart from the fun, there’s a lot of work that goes into preparing for a season, so basketball consumes most of my time.
Outside of basketball, I love boating and all of the water activities that come with it. I’m lucky enough to have grandparents with lake homes, so I often find myself in Northern Wisconsin or at the Lake of the Ozarks water skiing, jet skiing, boating or relaxing in the sun with my family.
This summer I am extremely excited to be interning at Blue Compass. The knowledge I have already received has solidified what I’ve always known: computers are my thing. Not only that, but everyone here has been helpful, welcoming and a ton of fun. From NERF gun wars to office pranks and everything in between, I’m fortunate to be here!
