Blue Compass is excited to announce its recent victories in the 2009 ADDY® Awards! Honored with a Gold Addy and BEST OF CLASS in Interactive Media for the Kum & Go website design, we are very excited to win top honors in the website category two years in a row. Blue Compass offers its condolences to the Ruan family as John Ruan, founder of Ruan Transport, has passed away today. John Ruan had an incredible life filled with hard work, many achievements, and extraordinary compassion towards others.
It all started with a truck and a young man's resolve to provide for his family. The year was 1932. With the Great Depression worsening and his father having passed away, 17-year-old John Ruan needed a good job. With a friend's encouragement he sold one of the family cars, bought a truck, and began working for the friend's father, hauling gravel around Iowa.
Now, more than 75 years after John Ruan loaded his first order of gravel by hand, The Ruan Companies continue to be driven by his founding principles of integrity, hard work, innovation, quality service, and compassion.
At Blue Compass, we have had a wonderful relationship with the Ruan team for years, and have witnessed the wonderful services, people, and charities Ruan supports first-hand. WesleyLife has launched a new website. With new marketing direction and branding, WesleyLife wanted to invigorate their online presence. Proliant Health and
Biologicals just launched a new website for their trademark product, ImmunoLin. Proliant needed an online presence for this
prominent product that was clean and professional in quality design as well as
a simplistic user friendly navigation. They have two core audiences that
were vastly different and it was important for this site to reach both targeted
groups.
The goal was to launch this site from start to finish in less than two
months, which happened without a hiccup.
The Proliant team was great to work with and they choose to break in the new
content management system right away with great reports on how easy it is to
use. Anyone on the staff can now easily and instantly update their new

One of Iowa's top malls has a fresh, new, web presence. With over 90 stores in a recently renovated, shopper-friendly facility, Merle Hay Mall has a lot to offer to the Des Moines community - both in store and online.
Looking ahead to the mall's 50th birthday celebration, the Merle Hay Mall team came to Blue Compass for a new website. Blue Compass delivered a bold new design, new functionality to improve the visitor's experience, and a content management system that allows the Merle Hay Mall staff to easily and instantly update the site.

Gulf Coast Village retirement communities has launched a new website. Looking to quickly revitalize their website, Gulf Coast Village searched for a web company that could provide high-end design and development within a fast timeframe. The result was Gulf Coast Village in Florida working with Blue Compass in Iowa.

The Diocese of Des Moines has launched a new website. Wanting to update the look and usefulness of their website, the Diocese of Des Moines approached Blue Compass to help them reach their web goals - 1) creating an inviting atmosphere that portrays the Diocese's general information while also conveying love and charity, and 2) providing a reorganization of content that would help various audiences find the information they are seeking.
The Diocese of Des Moines made information a priority. We recently created a Thanksgiving themed Flash game for our friends at Merchants Bonding Company.
